Sleeps 2 – 1 Bedroom – 1 Bed – 1 Bathroom
The shepherd hut started life as someone else’s project that they ran out of time for. It was only after we’d towed it back to the farm, with tractor and low-loader, that we discovered the roof wasn’t even attached!
Those clever farmers insulated it, clad it, built a cabin bed and sofa and installed a wood-burner. A super cosy space for two has been created (don’t put too much wood on the burner- it heats the space very quickly!). There is space under the bed for a dog bed (and your dog!). Dad’s trunk, that he came to Moulton College with in the 60s, has been turned into storage on wheels!
Part of the enjoyment of camping, for us, is that life slows down (it takes an age just to make a cup of tea!). That isn’t lost at Glamp, as you can still cook on a propane hob, its just located in the camp-kitchen so that you will always be dry! There’s also a gas-powered cool box and hot water for washing up. The other half of your private utility block is a toilet and wet-room with a propane-powered shower. (You’re not obliged to use it!).
All the lights, including a security light to illuminate your path to the toilet at night, are solar-powered. There is also a solar-powered unit for you to charge up phones with a usb-cable.
A trolley will be provided to tow your belongings from your parking spot to the hut. There will also be some fuel and firelighters for the wood-burner, firepit and BBQ.
Sit on the steps of the shepherd hut with a glass or mug in your hand and enjoy a beautiful sunset whilst red kites fly overhead. Then enjoy the warmth of the fire-pit and/or wood-burner and go to sleep in your cosy bed. Bliss!
